West End Youth Travel

Through the generous support of local Evergreen, Colorado residents, Moses Moxey and RJ Newton travelled from West End to Evergreen in July, 2006. Moses is one of TKF's first scholarship winners and his cousin RJ is studying to be a veterinarian. The young men visited Mt. Evans, one of Colorado's highest peaks and saw snow for the first time ever. They also visited the Denver Zoo and local Evergreen attractions. RJ had the unique experience of watching a liver surgery at Golden Animal Hospital in Golden. He was invited to shadow Dr. Donna Johnson on her ranch calls one afternoon. A special "potcake" party was held at the Kohn residence in Evergeen with all of the adopted potcakes in the Denver area. For Moses, this was his first plane trip, one which he remembers well.
